On a trial basis, City of Barnesville office workers will switch to a FOUR day, TEN hours work week per day beginning June 11 through September 1. City Hall will continue to be open 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, but CLOSED Fridays. The first Friday closure will be this Friday, June 14.
While City Hall will not be open, public works and utility workers will be on duty and working Monday through Friday. Hours at the Police department and Firehall Liquors will not change.
Barnesville residents will continue to have 24 hour access to online information and resources on this website. This includes online bill pay and building permit applications. Individuals can drop off their bill payments in the payment box located behind City Hall. The shorter work week will not mean fewer hours as administrative staff will continue to work 40 hours per week. The 4 day work week has become increasingly popular in the private sector. Many government offices are following this trend as a way to increase employee attraction and retention while maintaining excellent service to the public.
